The other day I was trying to help a couple of buyers get their heads round the complicated system for using group land in Second Life. I decided it would be easier to make a video and show what I was talking about.

Key points.

1) You get a 10% tier bonus for group owned land. Pay for 512m but be allowed to own 563m, pay for 10 regions be allowed to own 11 and so on.

2)When you sell group land everyone who has “pay liabilities and receive dividends” checked in their role will get a cut of what was sold.

3) When you sell land that is privately owned (one avatar) you receive the funds instantaneously but when sold by group you will receive the funds after midnight – also see point 2.

4) When buying land for group simply set the group active and in about land choose “buy land for group” instead of “buy land”.
